WDM: No Sound output from other windows applications

Windows 7 64bit.  MC output: HDMI.  Windows defualt: JRiver Media Centre 21

Output from JRiver fine.  But no SOUND from other apps (windows sounds, Msoft WMC, Spotify etc.)

Although apps indcate sound plaback see screenshot.

Any ideas?

PS switch default windows driver back to HDMI all ok???

Please re-read the WDM setup instructions carefully.  I don't think it's set up correctly.

try a right click on the speaker icon bottom right of task bar>select the >playback devices...see what is checked for default device

Many thanks for prompt reply on a Sunday Jim.

It was set up for exclusive use. Unticked > saved> closed WMC > reboot pc> still no audible output from other apps, though their displays indicate a signal is being output?

Thanks default was jriver.  Now switched back to  hdmi

Hi

Just in case you missed this, if you are running the wdm driver it should, IMO, be set to default. However you must have at least media server running. If you want to control the volume with a remote control you have to also have the UI up as a control.  Either or both can be set to run at windows boot through options startup. You might have to set a zoneswitch rule or toggle the zone for the driver depending on your config.
