I have been able to reproduce the same issue. For now, there is a workaround that may help to resolve this issue.  First, make the changes to the column displays like you normally would. Once you're finished, right click on the column bar (as if you were going to change the display) and select Presets -> Save. This time, when you go into the tree view on the left hand side to edit the column view, load the preset you just saved instead of making the changes directly to the column display.
