Title: MC Icon on menu bar
Post by: dmitch77 on February 19, 2019, 11:54:45 am
I'm not sure how or when this started, but I just noticed a MC icon in my Mac's menu bar - not the menu when MC is running, but the icons on the upper right that are there no matter what app is running. Attached screen shot shows the icon (with red arrow pointing to the MC icon). Clicking on the MC icon just gives two options: Show MC, and close MC.

This is on MC 24.0.75. I have 24.0.72 on another Mac and that icon is not there in the menu bar.

I can't find an option either under view or in Options to disable this. Is this in fact new for 24.0.75? How can I disable it? It takes up space I'd rather use for other things. Thanks.

Sounds like you have Media Server enabled.

MC's Options > Startup > Run on Mac startup <<< Change this to something else, e.g. the Nothing option. However, if you use Media Server, you might need to leave it enabled.

Thanks.
