Title: Problems with auto-updates on recent Monterey (12.3)
Post by: bob on March 22, 2022, 12:47:29 pm
It seems that Apple has changed the way disk images are allowed to be opened.

This creates a problem with Media Center updating from inside of the program. It will be fixed in the next build (29.0.23) but that can't happen retroactively.
When you try to update and it does nothing but close MC, the update has been downloaded but the disk image hasn't been opened.
You can either go to the download page and download the current version and install as if you were installing for the first time
OR
(hold down option key) select Go from the finder menu.
Then navigate to
Library
Application Support
J River
Media Center 29
Install
and double-click on the latest Media Center dmg file there.

Once you have installed 29.0.23 or later you will be able to update as normal.

23. Still the same issue. No automatic relaunch. Manually worked. Monterey 12.3

23 will now update to more recent releases of which there are none as of now.
