Title: .jtv - is there anything that can convert/compress them?

Is it possible to convert the .jtv to something else after it is recorded?  IT seems to work better on my system to record in .jtv (not sure why - I get bad glitches with .ts)...but I want to archive and save space...is it possible to compress the files to one smaller file?
