Known issue happening right now with JRiver's mail server, you can ignore/delete the email as it's meaningless. It has nothing to do with licenses nor does it mean you're going to lose your license or anything like that. It'll likely be a few more days until Bob can look into and hopefully find the issue with their mail server.

Hello, I received an email with the following message and wanted to know whether the message from JRiver is official or if this is a fake.

What is the purpose of the email message? Does this mean that I can no longer use my license for JRiver and my purchased license will be deactivated? Sorry for my not so good English.

Here is a small part of the email sent to me.

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
mpplist mailing list.

I'm working for my owner, who can be reached
at mpplist-jriver.com.

Create a new library field DISCNUMBER. That will read and write to the DISCNUMBER tag in the files.

It isn't spam.  It isn't phishing.  Nobody was hacked.

It's our mail software.  We have your address.

I'm pretty sure it's a byproduct of the changes we've made recently.  Bob will be back in a few days and should have more to say.

Read the header carefully if you're concerned.

I recognised from the mail header that this mail came from your network from your mail server. Only the why was unclear to me.
PS: I know a bit about IT, Internet and networks ;-)

I got several weird messages from a probably a "bot" starting with the name mpplist from jriver about messages bouncing.

Is this a valid message and, if so, what am I supposed to do about it.  If invalid, do you want a copy of it or should I simply delete it?

Thank ;you
