Title: JRiver Media Center 26.0.91 BETA for Debian ARM64
Post by: bob on June 16, 2020, 04:01:48 pm
This is a BETA build of MC26 for Linux.  Please post bugs here.  Please start a new thread for anything requiring discussion.  Non-bug posts will be deleted.

Download:
ARM64      https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/test/MediaCenter-26.0.91-arm64.deb

Also in the beta REPO under the buster distro.

26.0.91 (6/16/2020)

1. NEW: First beta ARM64 build.

NOTE: This build does NOT yet have a chromium plugin, it uses webkitgtk which has issues with some desktops and doesn't support cloudplay and some other features. Do not report this as an issue.

ALSO NOTE: Since this is built on buster if you try it on other distros with an older base it will almost certainly not work.

To add the repo, follow Awesome Donkeys tutorial. When you get to the point of adding the repo configuration file do this instead:

sudo wget http://dist.jriver.com/beta/mediacenter/mediacenter26buster.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mediacenter26beta.list

Installed on a Chromebook (chromeos 84). Seems to work mostly :)

Issues:
- Main window is not dragable/resizable.
- File menus appears in the center of the screen.
- I did not get it to play on USB audio device (fiio E17). Internal speakers/headphone out works. may be a chromeos/crostini issue.

I don't know anything about a chromebook in particular but if you can't move windows around it sounds like you are missing a window manager for your X environment.

I have the same problem on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook.

I have the same problem on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook.
It needs some kind of window manager to be able to move the top level window.

Hello, I just purchased a Master License for MC27.

Is there a way to get this build activated with the (new) license? It fails - I guess the reason being it is not at version 26.0.98 or above.

Thank you!

Don't think MC27 licenses will work in this experimental ARM64 build of MC26, as it's older and it wasn't updated to accept MC27 licenses.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to currently make this work. But we're very likely to release MC27 builds for ARM64 alongside the main builds for further testing.
