Hello,
I use Media center for android for 3 months for local music.
Bug : When I change the output (ex : headset to bluetooth to phone speakers), the app crash 80% of time.
Even if I stop the music before changing the output.
When it does not crash, I can play the file which is on pause, but it stop one second after and I have to stop the file and play it again from the beginning.
Hope it is understandable.
Best regards

Just to let others know Dolby Vision MKV's are playing on the Shield. I tried it today :). Not sure why it wasn't front page news.

Now if only I could rewind or skip chapters.

I just joined the beta program on Google Play.  It doesn't make the app free, does it?

On Windows, JRiver has a WDM Driver to route audio output to MC.   Is there a equivalent mechanism in JRiver for Android?

Android Q allows audio output switching.  If there is a JRiver switch available, it'd be great.

Is it in the development plan for Android Q and up?  I'd love to see it.   It is extremely useful for integration with services like Tidal.

I am using several MC installations as endpoints.  If there is a JRiver switch available on Android Q+, I can just select JRiver in Tidal and the integration will be flawless.

I have a new HiSense TV running Android. If MC is not showing in the play store, does that mean it's not compatible, or I need to side load it somehow?

Probably not supported on that device.

It should work on the Android Hisense TVs. I have one at home I use for testing and it works fine. Did you try searching for "JRiver" in the Google Play Store?

Every time I start it, the screen just flashes, I have to force close and reopen the app to get it to load.

I paid and am hoping in the long run that things progress, but every time I try it out I end up going back to Plex.

To be clear this is for Audio only.

Are you loading a library from a server?  That can take some time.

What version of Android?

Hi all,

I have been a MC user for more than 20 years now (since v5) and still love and support the product - I have a library on NAS of circa 4000 albums, 85,000 photos and 30,000 family and music videos. Quite an investment in time ripping my albums and I have done it all again recently to re-rip into flac files instead of mp3.

I have recently bought a car that has an Android headset and a supberb stereo system therefore keen to have the worlds best music centre on it - I am very keen to have an instance of MC loaded on it so that I can connect a USB Pen Drive with 512Gb of my favorite flac albums.

I would be interested in your experiences of this type of setup and the features/reliability of the Android version.

Thanks in advance....

It's one license for the devices associated with your Google account.

Thanks Jim.

Downloaded onto my car system and first 20 mins playing it seems to work very well - much better that the OEM player which was very clunky and had no album view

I have a full 512Gb USB attached - took a little exploring to find out how to point MC at the correct folder but did so eventually - probably going to take a good long journey to fully import all of the albums

Will further update after a good testing ;)

Hi

Old time user looking to return to jrmc. Looking for a whole house (and beyond) media solution.

I'm wondering if offline access of media using some rules or psuedo-intelligent predictive downloading to devices something planned for the Android app?

Thanks
Rich

I may move this to a new thread.  You can use Handheld Sync to load an Android device.

If that isn't enough, please describe what you're looking for in more detail.

Maybe I am not waiting long enough. Not sure Android version, whatever is on the Nvidia Shield Pro. Away from home to check.

There hasn't been much testing with Android 11 so far. Sometimes it can take a while to load in the beginning.

Does this  app allow a user to add a single song to a playlist while listening to it, on the computer?

Not yet, but it's added to list of features to add.

When i try to download this in play-store it appears I need to do this as a beta tester.  I am now recognised as a "beta tester" but an icon for JRiver remote doesn't appear on my android tablet. The tablet is Android 7.  Is that OK?  I haven't tapped on the $14.99 button. Is that likely the problem??

Kind Regards,
Michael Power.

I think you are looking to install JRemote2, not JRiver for Android.
