Title: Smartlist Help Needed - Found a missing feature in MC
Post by: melkiades on December 13, 2009, 01:08:57 pm
Hi there,

See this syntax:

([artist]=[Tall Dwarfs] or [artist]=[Grandaddy])

The problem here: missing operators.  The = sign is not sufficient, we need an operator for "contains" to do queries like this:

([artist]=[tall] or [artist]=[Gran])

That would return Tall Dwarfs or Grandaddy.

I am banging my head on the wall trying to find this in the Wiki, to no avail.

The only result so far is a purple lump.

Also, the Smartlist interface in the program is pretty much miserable.  There's no way to add new rules with the OR operator.  Every single new rule you add is automatically added with the AND operator and there's no way to specify the type of operator.  I can't believe that JRiver didn't think of this!

Thank you,
Alain

are you using version 12?
in version 14 you can use contains, i think it was also possible in 12

try
([artist]="tal" or [artist]="Gran")
