Title: Listening to:
Post by: KingSparta on August 31, 2003, 10:03:55 am
we talked before about modifying listening to

and i was playing with the playing now display there is 2 presets and some options to create your own.

it would be nice "JimH" & "Matt" to allow this modified display to be sent with the Listing to option

my new rule:
[Name] - [Comment] from [Album] By [Artist]

shows up as

'Ai No Corrida' - Charted At 28 In 1981 from 'The Best Of Quincy Jones' by 'Quincy Jones'

now if you can just add that to Listening to

How About This

PlayingNow = "Listening to" &  [Name] - [Comment] from [Album] By [Artist]

I will send you each a (Good) beer

'Western Union' Charted At 05 In 1967

Listening to: 'Western Union' from 'The Best Of Five Americans' by 'Five Americans' on Media Center 9.1

Or just use my GetPlayingNow plugin:

Rhino, you just need to get that Comments field. ;)

Cool plugin.

I didn't add the comments field as a token as I thought it would be too big to be usefull ... but it seems I am wrong.   I'll add it in today.

King - Surely you must have more tracks on your machine that didn't make the charts than did.  Won't the comments field be blank for those and therefore your display rule will look a bit odd?

Listening to 'Me & My Monkey' -  - from 'Escapology' by 'Robbie Williams'.

[edit] Guess it doesn't look all that bad actually!

All done ... added <Notes> and <Lyrics> tokens.

Or make it the last field so if it doesn't appear it doesn't matter. :)

or make it look for a Key word (user selectable) so if it is there then use it.

Like "Charted"

;D

Yes - that's exactly what I do in my display area:

Title: [Artist] ~ [Name]
Status:[Playstate]...  [Elapsed Time] / [Total Time] - [Bitrate (labeled)]   [PN Position] of [PN Tracks]        [Comment]

Did you do this?  Can you tell us what the token is as <Comment> isn't listed in GetPlayingNow.ini and doesn't work for me. :)

Thanks!

Rhino's plugin doesn't seem to work at all for me. All I get when I go its tree node is a blank screen.

Am I missing something?

You need to go to the ini file (GetPlayingNow in C:\Windows) and edit it.  It also has instructions in it. :)

(Try Ctrl-Alt-F9 from within Media Center for starters but its result is editable in the ini file.)

Tim,

Does the comments token work?
Title: Re: Listening to:
Post by: TimB on September 03, 2003, 01:01:06 pm
Rhino, it didn't the last time I checked it.  Is it <Comment> or <Comments>?  The token wasn't listed in the ini file as a valid one either (last time I checked anyhoo).  :)

(I'm at a non-MC machine right now.)

Thanks for the help!

Right now I'm groooving to Lady Madonna from Anthology 2 by Beatles.  Charted At 04 In 1968 On Billboard Top 100

Great, that works!  Is it doable to have it on Comments. :)

I have gone one better ... I now support any MC database field.

You specify the Db field in tokenised quotes, e.g.:

My picture size is <"Width">x<"Height">

Unfortunately my website is down so you will have to pick it up from:

Currently I'm groooving to You've Got A Friend from Live by James Taylor that I've previously listened to 3 times.  Charted At 01 In 1971 On Billboard Top 100.

Way cool! :)
