Title: file syntax change???
Post by: al1947 on August 07, 2021, 11:11:23 am
After recent MacOS and MC28 updates, a large number of songs suddenly moved to the dreaded red minus symbol category. Problem traced to the presence of a colon or slash in the full file path.

Since I did the updates about simultaneously, I am not sure which one caused the syntax change. Any guidance on what happened and what the new path/filename rules are?

Are you using any rules under
Files->Library->Portable Library?
I assume you mean you have a backslash in the filename since a slash is not a valid filename character in MacOS.
Can you try to play one and provide a log?
Thanks.

Can't play one -- I renamed all the errant files
