Title: Clipboard support
Post by: morrison on September 26, 2018, 06:15:17 am
Hi

Now I'm still use MC22 on my main windows server, no new wanted features for me in latest versions.
Today I try install MC22 on Bionic Beaver laptop and got "Segmentation fault". OK.
So that the question - MC24 have worked clipboard on Linux? Without additional tricks. Then I'll think about updating.

Thanks

I'd recommend installing MC24 and give it a try and see if it works.

I personally have no issues with copying or pasting, but that isn't to say there isn't any. I don't believe MC supports all the Linux copy/paste methods (I think it supports 2 out of the 3, but I may be mistaken). Bob would know for sure.

The obvious solution, thanks

Working! In both directions. Nice progress here. Now the upgrade makes sense to me

Thank you again, regards

There is still no ..
After rebooting, the clipboard does not work again. As in the MC22 (I was able to run it) and in MC24. Before reboot - worked in both. So no progress here

Let's wait .. I read here about 2-3-4 versions of working with clipboards in Linux. But from the software I use, this is only MC problem..

There is something I haven't been able to track down with some window managers and the clipboard.
Also, the clipboard is really only implemented for text at this point. It will be nice to get it working with images, etc.
