Title: JRemote on old Ipad
Post by: carlgarton on October 20, 2015, 09:04:40 am
Hi, have searched but cannot find a definitive answer. I am currently using Squeezebox for a 7 room system - My nas has died and looking at the JRiver system. Its great and will do the job perfectly. The problem I have is I have an Ipad1 (IOS 5.1) mounted 'in' a wall which I can easily control Squeezebox. I cannot find an app to control it. I do not want to use the web browser. Any suggestions?

The best iOS and Android remote is undoubtedly JRiver's own application (JRemote) but that does require iOS v7 or higher; an alternative is to use a generic 3rd party UPnP Control Point; Bubble UPnP is the best Android application; and PlugPlayer is an iOS application that I have tried in the past (although it seems that it too requires iOS v8 or more). I fear that it may be quite difficult to find an application that runs on iOS 5, but try browsing the Apple store for UPnP control points.

Hi, Yes I have tried that but none will allow zone control. So seems i need to remove and make the hole in my wall slightly smaller, and go back to Andriod were you dont get the amount of software issues vs hardware. I have read that people do have Ipad 1 with JRiver but it is not available from Apple. Thanks anyway
