Title: JRemote IOS iPad .jtv playback
Post by: allisong on April 05, 2016, 01:34:36 pm
Using JRemote on an iPad and iPhone and it plays back all videos fine except .jtv files recorded off-air from DVB-T2 services that are aspect ratio 16:9, these playback as full screen (effectively 4:3) in JRemote and hence are squashed, also no option to zoom or change this. I have tried all sorts of settings to no avail and it seems it is a bug as I note that this has been mentioned much earlier in the forums, any ideas??

MC on the server can convert formats.

I have tried converting to various formats 1080p being the "best" but then other issues appear such as poor movement and juddering, none of the conversions have given me a playback experience the same that the jtv format does; in my view a paid for app like JRemote should simply be able to play back what MC produces and correctly?. Hence my posting?

I have found a solution in that converting to .ts using the H264 profile seems to do the job, although it seems to be the JRemote app lacks many what seem to me obvious things, will make suggestions elsewhere...
