Title: Noticed some issues with the fonts
Post by: lobo85 on September 10, 2015, 11:25:16 am
I'm not sure if this has been posted about before, so here it goes. The fonts for MC get cuttoff on the bottom on letters such as "g" or "j". Has anybody else seen this as it stands my g's look like q's and j's like i's right now. I didn't restart before running MC on my current install, but I did on my previous one. I'm currently running Ubuntu 14.04.3, previously I was running 15.0.4. To repeat both settings had and have the same problem.

Getting the font metrics is a bit tricky, so I half-expected this to happen on some font or OS. Unfortunately we cannot just "pad" it, as it would add blank space where none may be required.
I changed the font metrics code in the next version to try another value reported by Freetype, which does help on a quick Ubuntu setup i through together. Testing appreciated of how it looks!

21.0.7 is available now which includes this fix. Feedback appreciated!
