Post by: bjourney on March 24, 2016, 09:29:23 pm
Why they sound different when
-Same amp (external ), dac(external ), OS( debian), software( jriver), setting (Alsa IEC958 )
-Different computer( 1 desktop, 1 laptop)
Anyone can help???

as long as your setup is bypassing the windows mixer they should sound the same (eg you are using WASAPI or ASIO in exclusive mode and either disabled volume or internal volume options).  If you are using System volume, that's something else - don't use direct sound to compare.

I suppose there could be an issue with the power supply and using different cables or very long connections on one and not another, but basically if the configuration is exactly the same and you hear a difference its probably expectation bias after reading too many articles from audiophile forums  ;D
