Why do the series and seasons cover art not delete from the cover art folder when the last episode is deleted.
The folder gets deleted.
I have hundreds on my hard drive in the cover art folder, is there a way to clean these please?
-
anybody
series cover art not deleting
-
MC cannot really track those files. If you want to clean those up, just delete them manually, but its just one image per series and season.
-
thanks
-
Is it possible to delete them all ? and if so how do i get them again
-
MC should be able to delete the Series and Season Cover Art in the specified Cover Art directory using the "Options > File Location > Cover Art > Clean Cover Art folder..." function.
Just be aware that it only keeps Cover Art for media files still in the currently open Library. So if you run multiple Libraries on a PC, it isn't recommended. You can still use it, but you will lose Cover Art for media files not in the currently open Library.
To get any lost Cover Art back, just run the "right-click > Cover Art > Get From Internet" function against the media files.

thanks again,
I thought I had seen that option somewhere, but If I understood it correctly Hendrick said I had to do them manually and there is far too many.
-
Well, as far as I know, it works. I haven't run it for a long time myself. Actually, I probably should delete a bunch of Series and clean up my HTPC Cover Art.
-
does not work, or at least it doesnt do what i think it is supposed to do
-
It should delete Cover Art for which you no longer have the associated video files. If you have any episodes left of a series, it won't delete Series and Season Cover Art associated with the leftover episodes.
Doesn't do that?
-
I don't have any video files left and I still have series pic
-
Hmm, you are right. It isn't doing what I thought it would do, and what is implied by the warning message that pops up.
Wait, the Wiki agrees with me:
"Cleaning the Cover Art Folder
You can clean your cover art folder in Options > File Location > Cover Art. This performs the following actions:
Moves files named differently than the standard listed above into the current location
Deletes files that are not referenced by the current library
Clears the 'Image File' field for any files that link to a file that does not exist in the cover art folder"
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Cover_Art#Cleaning_the_Cover_Art_Folder
So it just isn't working as intended. Not an unexpected Feature, a failure of Feature.
-
yeah the only work around is to delete all the re import.
Its too hard to look through them all.
Its disappointing that it doesn't work as intended

Let's see if we can get it fixed. I have reported the issue.
-
Fantastic
-
After my manual clean up I notice some of my seasons and series do not have covers.
Is there a way to trigger this?
-
Well I don't think Auto Import is going to pick them up for you, so you will need to select the items and run "Get from Internet" to get the art back.
-
k ta
-
has this issue been fixed yet?
-
bump
-
We don't plan to do anything here, sorry.
You can manually clean out the directory of old images if you wish, but MC doesn't actively keep track which are still in use, as with some usage models files may come and go (ie. I may record a show, watch it, and then delete it, and same story next week), and as such series art may still be useful in the future

Hi hendrik,
So if I get this correct the "Cleaning the Cover Art Folder as per the Wiki is broken and is not to be fixed?
-
Cleaning Cover Art is for audio.
