Title: Can't play VOB files inside a VIDEO_TS folder from Windows Explorer
Post by: bogdanbz on October 18, 2022, 04:40:21 pm
I uploaded a VOB file fragment (cut from a larger DVD vob file) here: https://files.catbox.moe/qpm7gi.VOB

Download it and place it inside a VIDEO_TS folder that you have of a DVD that you ripped, then double-click on it in Windows Explorer to launch the vob file playback it in MC.
MC will fail to play it and will display the dialog box attached to this post. The same happens with the larger DVD vob file in its original VIDEO_TS folder.

The file fragment and the original can be played without any issues in MPC-BE straight from Windows Explorer.

The original vob file, and the fragment can be played if they are moved outside the VIDEO_TS folder to another location. It's just when they are inside the VIDEO_TS folder that playback of the vob file fails.

The DVD, whose content is located in the VIDEO_TS folder from which I tried to launch the vob file, plays without issues in MC when played as a DVD. Trying to play just a VOB file from that folder straight from Windows Explorer is what fails.
