Title: Does MC 18 show closed captions?

Hello :), I am new to this forum. I am going to upgrade my HTPC and am searching the current software choices. I have been using Beyondtv since 2006 and it has been fine for my purposes. I only use it to record TV programs from a rooftop antenna through a Hauppauge 2250 capture card. My question is: Does MC18 play Closed Captions in live and recorded TV? I have been reading on and off for the last week and have not really seen a definite answer.

It's ok to keep it simple:

1. YES, it definitely will work with Closed Captions.
2. No, Closed Captions will not work.
3. Maybe, But it is complicated with mixed results

The answer is NO it will not do closed captioning.

Any tmeframe on closed captioning from ATSC?  I'm currently evaluating JRiver MCE and am seriously considering buying it, but I'm also a heavy CC user and this could be a showstopper for me.

I am now using Windows media center with windows 8 OS and closed captions works fine.

Closed Captioning is not supported in digital TV (ATSC or DVB), only in analog TV.

Then how am I getting closed captions on over the air digital broadcasts?
