Title: Changing Hard Drive Designators and Playlist Association issues
Post by: Jettgod on June 30, 2018, 05:04:45 am
Hi, I have been using MMJ 14 for many years and have a large music library which includes 600+ playlists. All these currently stored on the primary hard drive under "C:\MyMusic" on an old PC which has now died. The hard drive will be moved to a new SSD based PC and become the secondary drive so will presumably now be drive "D" or whatever.

The MMJ 14 Program Software will be reinstalled on the new SSD "Drive C" and will be pointed to the same Library location on the old Hard Drive "\MyMusic" albeit this now has a drive "D" prefix i.e. "D:\MyMusic"

However, I assume that the m3u playlists will still be showing the tracks as being on Drive "C\MyMusic"  Therefore, am I faced with the prospect of finding some software that will do a global search and replace of 600 M3u files in one hit? Or, is there something in MMJ that will do this for me?

Thanks

Gerry

The wiki has a topic called Moving Files .  It may help.
