I have a Mac Mini set up as a headless server and access it via Aoole Remote Desktop or Screen Sharing. In either case, I am not able to get mouse-key combos to work in MC. For example, shift+right-click and command+right-click are not working in MC. These combos do work properly when accessing other programs on the Mini (Apple Mail, for example). I was able to use the combos successfully fairly recently, but it seems an Apple update or perhaps an MC update broke something? BTW, key combos like Command+A do work in MC via this setup.

Does it work if you connect a monitor and keyboard? Knowing that would help identify where the problem is.
-
Yes. Key-mouse combos work with MC with monitor and keyboard attached to the Mini.
-
That probably means that MC is working as expected and that the problem is with the remote control software. You could try other remote software.
-
So, why do key-mouse combos work with other programs and not MC? The combos work with Apple Mail and uTorrent, so not just Apple software. I just checked.

This bug started with 10.12.2 for headless Mac Mini using Screen Sharing
I tried previous versions of MC but same bug.
Just did some more test connecting at the same time keyboard/mouse/TV and connecting through Screen Sharing via Macbook.
Mouse Key combo works with the keyboard/mouse but not through MacBook/Screen Sharing on the same MC!
Something has changed with 10.12.2.
Would be nice if you could fix it.
Thanks and Regards

Hello
Any idea how to fix this issue ?
Thanks

I'm experiencing this problem as well. Running MacBookPro 17 OS X 10.12.3 Screen Sharing 1.7.1
Screen Sharing from rMacBookPro same OS version to MacBookPro 17 running MC 220075 - Shift Click does not function, Right Click does not function. Control Click doesn't work...
This key click functionality works with screen sharing to other applications using same from-to config.
Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me because this apparent MC bug severely limits the required remote interoperability with MC.
Has this issue been investigated further since the last post on Jan 18, 2017?

I haven't heard anything. I am still working around the issue, which is a pain. MediaCenter is so good that I'm living with this, but I sure would be a lot happier if it got fixed!

So far I'm impressed with MediaCenter but it's functionality is handicapped using Screen Sharing.
I'm curious to know your workaround if easily described. Although awkward, I thought about using a BT KB and mouse if BT would reliably reach to 30'.

I do a lot of metatagging of files, and that's mostly when I get into wanting to use various mouse-key combos.
I have two workarounds. One, I spend extra time refining searches until I have a set of files that I want to apply the same tag to, say add an album name, and then I can use the command-a key combo to select them all. It's time-consuming, but it works.
The other workaround involves going into the basement to work directly on the server when I am too annoyed with workaround number 1. I connected an old VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse to the Mini for that. It works, but does not give me joy.

In more than 2 months no answer from the developers/support ! I wish they could find a solution

I have the same problem.
Can't tag my files remotely because multiple selections aren't possible any more.
This worked for years but doesn't any longer.
-
Can someone from JRiver provide a way forward response to this issue so I can decide to continue investing my time with MC or move on?
Currently with OSX 10.12.2+, MC does not effectively work with screen sharing.
The problem appears to be MC's interaction with Screen Sharing. Don't have problems with other apps.

Any chance that this bug will be fixed in MC23?
-
+1
I'm suffering from this, too!
Would like it to be fixed.

Are all of us using ARD? Has anyone tried another screen sharing control method?

I'm using Apple Remote Desktop as well as the Screens App.
Neither works.
But only MediaCenter is affected, all other programs work well.
I suspect that Apple changed something in their Remote Desktop code. But that doesn't mean that JRiver can sit down and wait for the problem to vanish.
I just bought the update for MC23 an i really hope the problem will be fixed soon!
-
Still no answer from the developers!?
-
Can anyone test to determine if this issue might be fixed in the current MC23 build?
This issue needs to be resolved before I will purchase.
-
Has anyone tested MC 22 since update to ARD client the other day? I haven't had a chance yet.

Has this problem been fixed in MC23? I've been waiting for a fix before I buy.
-
Yes, works again with MC23.0.41 and macOS 10.12.6 for me :)
-
It's working again with MC 23 and Mac OS 10.12. Yay!
