I needed a power supply, so I figured I'd try the new Kingwin Lazer 550W Platinum.
It's the first Platinum certified (80-plus certification) power supply to be available in North America.
There's an in-depth review here:

This power supply is over 90% efficient at almost all loads, and is totally silent / passive until it's drawing a lot of juice.
My results, measured with a Kill-a-Watt with the computer at idle:
Seasonic SS-600 (one of the most efficient PSUs in 2006 when I bought it): 114W watts
Kingwin Lazer 550W: 97W at idle
That's almost 1/6 less power to do the same thing. It's pretty fun to see computers get faster AND more efficient.
