Coming to v26 soon is the ability to download files when connected to a library server on another machine. This will give you an easy way to transfer files from a desktop to a laptop, for example.
The command is under the File Menu.
1. Select files you want to transfer
2. Choose File > Download From Library Server
Files will be downloaded to the location specified in Options.
A version 26 should also be able to download even if it's connected to a MC25 since no new commands were added.
Enjoy :)

That's a great new feature. I would also hope that something similar comes to Panel so this functionality is accessible via Android and web browsers. It would be like FTP on MC steroids.
-
I could see this as being useful when JRiver for Android can connect to a library server. Assuming then that I could get files to my phone for offline playback.
-
Could be interesting.
Will it download Playlists as well? I suspect not if it is just media file download.
I have found the old functionality at "File > Library > Sync Library" a bit unreliable, and confusing as to what it is doing when merging content. But at least it gave you a level of control over what is synced, and how.

Like it! How does it go with compound media (eg BD Folders etc).
-
reminded me of this feature request - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,115253.0.html (which I've now bumped to the MC26 board)
-
I will use this, well done!

Does it mean I can download a subset of the library to a local library?
For example some expression that can create a library that contains just the matching content

You select the files you want when you're connected via Library Server. MC downloades them to the client machine.

How about the Auto Sync - will files be synced/transferred between two machines?
-
Sounds like it could be useful, good feature.

This sounds way easier than the Renamemovecopy feature for simple copying. I like it.
