Title: Handheld sync over capacity message [Fixed]
Post by: jb82 on December 11, 2019, 06:39:18 am
I am trying to use an external encoder (qaac) to convert FLAC to AAC 192 kb/s

When running sync i get an over 'capacity message'. It appears to be calculating the required space based on the FLAC files.

I understand that it would be hard to estimate the required space for external encoders, but unless I'm missing something there appears to be no way to override or ignore this message making it impossible to run the sync?

Urghhhh.... reading around this seems to have been an issue right back to ~MC16  :o

Can't you guys just add an ignore to the 'over capacity' message?

I'm making a coming build of v26 able to specify the bitrate of an external encoder instead of assuming it's 1440.

Thanks for the suggestion :)

That would be awesome - thanks Matt!

Do you have a rough idea when it will be available?

We're releasing v26 soon.  This won't be in it, but will follow in around a week.
