Title: Setting up MC 21 on external HD
Post by: rimc on October 27, 2016, 03:08:43 pm
Could not find direct answer on forum so thought I would reach out to community. Want to rip disks and have playback from an external HD connected to my MacBook Pro. Appears that default is to the MBs internal drive and with flash storage would fill up quickly. Any direction as to where I can find this information? Thanks.

Ripping:

You can rip using MC or a third party tool to any folder you want, including external drives.  In MC, you set the RIP destination folder here:

Tools > Options > File Location > Audio (CD rips and podcasts) > (set folder here)

In addition, MC can import music from any folder on any drive.  Just use Tools > Import > Import single folder.  MC can also monitor folders so that when you put new songs in particular folders, MC automatically adds them to it's library (imports them).  These are called Auto Import folders and can be set here:

Tools > Import > Configure auto import

If you need more help, please ask.  Good luck!
