Just curious really, but if might help with my ongoing J River data import problem.
When I import a folder containing a ripped DVD, the MC entry is for an "ifo" file. A typical entry in the MC filename tag for this is
\\Server\movies\C\Charlies Angel\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.dvd;1
But unlike other filename tag entries (e.g. avi, mp3 etc) this does not explicitly refer to a specific file. The folder contains files called VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS_0.IFO, so I'm assuming that the ".dvd;1" suffix is additional navigational information. But how does this work, and in particular what does the ";1" bit add.
Thanks

That filename is the name used for database, and is totally internal. Users only need to know that the video is a ripped DVD in the folder \Charlies Angel\VIDEO_TS\ folder.

Thanks
But I'm trying to work out what is happening with the import of an XMP playlist generated by My Movies. This thread has all of the details

In short, when MC imports the playlist referring to a DVD rip in a folder, it doesn't seem to find it's existing entry for the same rip/folder.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks again
