We're starting to issue MC27 licenses earlier than usual this year. That just means that we'll probably have a longer transition period.
All licenses sold now are for MC27, whether it's an upgrade or a new purchase. The license also works with MC26.0.98 or higher.
Thanks for your help.

Thanx,
I jumped on the buy button and have purchased a new license.
You didn't actually tell us "why now?"
What are your development plans regarding this longer transition period?

v27 purchased!
Continued success in this next dev cycle.
Cheers!

Can we have a sneak peek of new features of this version? Maybe something interesting?! Other days I was thinking when you will start a new post of a new version, and here it is.

I skipped 26, but just ordered 27, due to your continued support and development of iOS JRemote! :)

Took me a milli second to decide. Bought :)

Took me a nano second to decide. COOL

Purchased. Hopefully a VST user interface for some plugs, e.g. Airwindows?

Hi all.
I'm still running MC24 on a few Macs. I've looked through the release notes on 25 and 26 but it's very hard to summarize. Can anyone give me a simple list of what current features I'm missing by staying with 24? If I could see this, it could help me decide on paying for 27. Is the TV stuff ever coming to Mac? Will that move away from Intel hurt this in the future if MC is relying on outside drivers/VST/code? Will it ever support MacOS Full Screen that I (and many others) have been requesting for years?
Thanks!
David

You could search for NEW here:

Ok, even though I had written that I previously did that, I went through the MC26 "NEW" features. Extremely inconvenient way to see what's new. I'd think JR would have an easy-to-read list of new features to convince customers to upgrade. It's not reasonable to expect anyone to go through hundreds of little items, one by one, to see the changes.
Anyway, having gone through the list, 99% look like very low-level search/edit/tag stuff. A bunch of TV features that don't apply to the Mac version (why don't the release notes specify items that only apply to some versions?).
The only item that looked at all interesting was the "wake" word and voice command. However, I have no idea if this works on a Mac.

TV features in macOS/Linux are actually a work-in-progress now, as long as you have a DLNA capable tuner.

Any list of new features ?

but we paid for JRemote separately and that's another development stream
IMHO I upgraded JRemote today and didn't notice anything I didn't have 5 yrs ago,
tried to change the icon size today - they are huge on ipad pro - and couldn't find any setting for that.

I have an iPad Pro and JRemote, and the album covers do respond to the usual double-finger zoom gesture. Their response is quite granular, though -- you have to keep zooming in or out and then you should observe a change in size.

That's quite right plus there hasn't been much real roadmap for the last couple versions. I guess you pay for bug fixes and some random features that will be selected. I've been supportive and have been buying all versions for years until 26 but beside the waveform display, I'm barely using any single of the new features since version 22 or so... JRiver is lucky to have enough customers who trust them with their focused vision... All the other products I know have a clean and simple bullet point list of major features for each version and sometimes either analytics or a voting system for future directions...
I've seen plenty of requests for refreshed UI and theater view for years but they seem to be getting ignored. Looks like the radio playlist service got prioritized instead.

Wait, what, hasn't it been like four months since MC26 went stable?
