Title: Single Source (MC28) Multi-Room Video
Post by: ffd97glx on March 02, 2022, 11:52:09 am
I would like advice/solution to my need for multi-room (simultaneous) video display from MC28 or higher.  The hwd/sftw solution should be able to play the same movie on multiple TVs/Monitors in different locations in the house.  Some of my displays are hardwired to a component-based distribution amp, but new displays are not connected to anything.  I've side-loaded Fire TV and Chromecast devices to get to MC video, but those are single point solutions.  Whatever I come up with need to have a very simple UI.

Most modern computers will have at least 2 or 3 video outputs by default and you can get way more with an external GPU +/- DP MST splitting/daisy chaining. Or you can get an HDMI splitter, such as: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CBBQF1B/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_JQDE763KC3R7VNXPDCAW

If your drops are long and/or your house is wired with cat5+ already you can also look into "HDMI over ethernet" which can also do multi-point (one to many) distribution.

So lots of options, just depends on your cabling and budget.
