Title: How to ensure MC28 lauches from doc instead of lauching the installer.
Post by: baldo on December 26, 2021, 09:36:50 am
I have an MC 28 pinned to the dock at the bottom of the screen, and every time I click on it launches the MC installer. Previously it would just open MC.

This only happens with MC28.

With MC 22, my previous version, it just opens MC22.

Have I got the shortcut pointing to the wrong program?  How do I check that it is pointing to the correct program?

The same thing happened with MC28 on my wondows machines.

I move the MC28 icon into the Apllications folder and it puts a shortcut on my desk top which I move to the dock but I still get the message that it wants to reinstall MC28 on my machine.  Even though it sees I already have a version and wants me to either keep both or replace.

Many thanks
This is the reason I hate upgrading!!!! I just want the thing to work and not constantly be messing around with updates and menus.  Thats another story  though!!!

Unpin it and find the program itself.  You've got the install file pinned.
