Title: Gizmo to control Windows 7 client
Post by: omaha on August 04, 2013, 04:48:24 pm
I would like to use Gizmo as a remote application for my Android phone to control my (Windows 7) HTPC.

The HTPC (and the server) is configured with MC-17 and pulls content over the LAN from my server. This setup works fine.

I am able to configure Gizmo to interact with the server and play audio at that location.  I can also play music from the server over my cell phone.

But, when I try to use Gizmo to play music to the client (HTPC), I get a message box which says "Resume Playback".  Clicking it has no effect. I have been on the forum and have been unable to find the answer.  What am I missing?    I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

When you play to the server, you should

1.  Open Gizmo
2.  Connect to the server as your source of music  (Choose a server to play from)
3.  Play to the server (Choose where to play).  On my copy of Gizmo, this is "Player".

This works for me.  I'm using MC18.  It's possible we've introduced an incompatibility with MC17.  Maybe someone else will know.
