Title: Cloudplay over UPnP
Post by: Bro on April 17, 2022, 08:43:40 am
When I start any Cloudplay playlist streaming from my laptop via upnp to upnp device (Volumio Primo) it starts playing BUT after first track is over it doesn't go to next track. Time counter on top is still running but it still shows title of first track.

NOTE: When playing Cloudplay playlists on my laptop locally  it goes to the next track normally.

That's probably a problem with the Renderer.  Try changing SetNextAVTransport in the settings on the server.

I'll move this to a new thread.

I just did, one by one, and then all of them together but it didn't help.

Hi Jim, any news on this one? Cloudplay playlist still plays only first song from a list if sound is cast via upnp/dlna
Here's an example from alphabetically first Cloudplay user "100 AAA", playlist "Country 100"
I'm able to hear only the first song "I walk the line" but nothing else.

I can confirm this behavior. What is even more strange the time keeps running even though the song has ended.

Only if I >> to the next song it will start playing, but at the end the same behavior. Time keeps moving even though the song has ended but the output stays silence.

Works fine for me to an IdPi.
I don't have a volumio renderer but they should be quite similar.
As a zone the IdPi is a DLNA renderer just like volumio.

You don't have the repeat control set to "Stop After Each Item" do you?

Good question bob ;D but no, repeat settings are set to "repeat off".

Cloudplay to my renderers works fine as well so possibly your MC settings.

Have you tried using AndrewFG's Whitebear tool to advise on suggested MC DLNA settings?

Could be a volumio setting as well.

Hi Scobie,
yes I tried it and saved all settings as they are suggested but the issue is still there :( (first song is OK but second song wont play...)

Any other suggestion people how to make it work?

Perhaps turn off SetNext support for the volumio zone?
Right click on the zone, it's under DLNA controller options.

It seems like something is broken in Volumio's UPnP.
Checking into it.

That seems to be it.
Volumio 3 is pretty broken.
https://community.volumio.org/t/volumio-isn-t-working/53794
Really basic stuff like getting the playback position from the Volumio renderer doesn't work. MC tries to work around it but that will make the track advance fail.

I backed off to Volumio 2 and it works perfectly with my Cloudplay.
You can get it from them here:
