Title: Odd issue with Scarlett 2i2 2nd
Post by: 2slow4u on January 23, 2018, 07:09:58 am
Hello, I'm writing to you because I'm having trouble using my new Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd.
I can easily play my music (44.1 / 96 / 192kHz) with jriver, using ASIO.
The problem is that by exiting JRiver, I can no longer correctly play any flac file with applications like windows media player, VLC, etc.
In fact, what I get is just skipping audio.
A curious thing, I get skipping audio playing flac files, but with mp3s the problem does not exist. Really odd!
Restarting the PC is not enough, to restore proper operation of Direct Sound applications, I am forced to remove and reinstall the Scarlett driver.
But if I try again to play music with JRiver in ASIO, the problem comes back immediately.
I then tried to use JRiver with WASAPI but in that way I can only play 16/44 files. If I select a file with higher resolution, JRiver reports an error, telling me that my hardware does not support that resolution.
Why?
Using Foobar2000 with ASIO, I have no problems at all.

Try pressing the stop button instead of the pause button.

Try using WASAPI instead of ASIO.

Try using WASAPI instead of ASIO.

As I wrote, using WASAPI I'm unable to play files over 16/44 format...
