I tested many 4k demo videos with my new 4k TV:
The Sony demo video: "Sony 4k - Camp HDR" plays but I looks inverted (crazy almost white)
Does MC in the current version 21.0.89 support HDR using RO HQ or must I configure something?
TV is a LG OLED 55C6D (I know the picture is stunning, stunning...)
I have configured HDMI1 with HDR support.

Computers do not currently support HDR output.
madVR (ROHQ) has the option to convert HDR videos to SDR.
HDR is being worked on and is sure to be supported by the GPU manufacturers in the near future.
Only once there is a way for them to support HDR, would it be possible for HDR output to be added to madVR.

As far as I know, Nvidia's new 1070 and 1080 cards support HDR.

The cards are capable of it, but I don't know that the feature is available yet.

Other than some free test videos, what will you watch through your computer? Computers won't be able to play 4K HDR movies until the "new copy protection" code is broken, and that will be quite a while according to sources.
Only a stand-alone 4K player or streaming box (Amazon Fire, etc.) will get 4K to your TV.

Then you need to get a HDR capable player or get the TV to play the file itself (ie. from USB)
As others have said, the only capability right now is to process HDR content into a SDR range, so it can be viewed on ordinary screens (note however that some of the Sony demo clips are broken, so don't expect them to fully work).
Sending HDR content to the screen in-tact will require further developments, which will first require the GPU manufacturares to enable (by providing and documenting interfaces) third party software to send the required metadata.
So, not soon.

Hendrik - I was not aware that HDR was not supported by my GK. Thank you very much for all your support! Also without HDR picture quality is really stunning ;D

Is there any update on this?
I have an AMD RX480 and some 4K HDR videos in mkv that I would like to play but the HDR content is not streamed to my TV...
Any plans when JRiver will support sending HDR via HDMI?

I have a nvidia 1060 which plays 4K HDR videos just fine from youtube. Plays back is 2160 @ 60.
