Title: DTS Sound Unbound in Windows 10 with JRiver Media Center
Post by: HTPC Videophile on November 06, 2019, 06:19:49 am
I had already posted a similar thread https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114861.msg823897.html#msg823897  regarding Dolby Atmos for headphones app in Windows 10 . Today i bought n installed DTS:X for headphones  (from  Windows Store)which includes DTS:X codec . What difference should i expect (in theory at least because my ears are not that sharp to discern any minor difference)when playing DTS:X tracks on ordinary stereo headphones(Mine is Steeleseries Siberia with 50 mm drivers) using JRiver MC ?

Media Center cannot pass DTS:X or Atmos data to the decoder.
All you can use the DTS:X for Headphones feature for is to downmix a 7.1 stream for virtual surround (output via DirectSound).

Thanks @RD James for the clarification.
