Specifically it appears to require either the 32 or 64 bit version. I have Windows 7 (64-bit) installed, so version 17 appears to need 32-bit? Or, is 17 still in beta or not even released yet in any format. I don't see much here about 17 yet.

What bugs me is that I have already paid for the new upgrade.

MC is a 32 bit program and it runs fine on a 64 bit OS.

Your license will work for this version (16) and the next one (whenever it appears).
