Title: MC 18 for Mac can't see CD drive
Post by: rmcclean on September 20, 2013, 04:38:10 pm
I can't even get started with MC 18 for Mac.  It doesn't even see my CD drive to play from, nor rip from.  It won't play files that have already been ripped on my Windows machine using MC 17 and 18.  It says that my output device which is an NAD DAC1 can't support 44.1 kHz 24 bit files.  I have tried changing the bitrate in DSP options to no avail. The NAD DAC1 works fine with other audio outputs, such a Safari running Songza.

I am running MC 18 on a Macbook Air 13" with OS-X 10.8.5.

The Mac version doesn't rip or burn CD's.  I'm not sure about playback from a CD, but you could transfer the files to your Mac and play them there.

Make sure you have the latest build available from this board.

That is unfortunate, as that was the main use for it on Windows - making Flac files from CDs.  It seems like a very unnecessary step to copy the CDs to my MAC first, and rip from there.

For the Mac I would recommend using XLD, its a very good program. A perfect compliment to JRiver.

Has this changed? I am having the same problem with MC20 on Mac.
