Another user reported the same issue a couple of years ago (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,100107.msg693520.html#msg693520) but didn't get an answer, so I'm reposting as new.
After installing MC24 (24.0.30), I cannot uninstall Media Center 17 (17.0.189) from Windows 10 Pro (64-bit). Running the uninstall program results in the following RunDLL dialog box being displayed:
There was a problem starting
C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Temp\JRMediaUninstall.dll
A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.
I've tried rebooting, re-installing MC17, re-launching MC17 and get the same error message each time.
Should I worry about having this installation sit on my computer? Will it screw up future installs?
Thanks

Problems like this are often caused by antivirus software.

I forgot to mention that this still occurs when disabling the computer's antivirus software.

Try uninstalling it, just to test.

Uninstalling an anti-virus application is not an acceptable work-around for this issue. I'll go as far as temporarily disabling it, and I've already tried that.
What files and registry entries should be deleted to manually uninstall this application safely?
Thanks.

Uninstalling is the only way to prove that the AV is innocent.

Not interesting in "proving" or "disproving" an anti-virus issue here. Just interested in uninstalling this version safely and cleanly, even if it is manually and not through the uninstaller. Are you able to help with that?
