Title: Unique names of shared public folders on Mac
Post by: eafisher13 on January 29, 2018, 07:05:36 am
I got 3 MyCloud drives and hooked them up to my router so I can access the music files from any computer in my house. Each drive has a different name displayed on Finder, but Media Center gets confused because each drive's Public folder (where the music files are) has the same name, which cannot be changed in an obvious way. As the drives become active, the folders are assigned the names Public, Public-1, Public-2, in the order that the drives are sensed.  Unfortunately, the order changes on a random basis, so the path names also change. Thus, when Media Center is looking for a file previously loaded into the library, the path can be different, and it either says file not located or shows me duplicates with a variety of path names.

How can I assign a unique name to each Public folder so there is no jumping around?
