Title: Clicks/pops between tracks in .wav format created by JRMC18
Post by: TheIronWolf on December 07, 2015, 12:16:05 pm
Hi,
I realize this is unlikely an issue with JRMC18 conversion, but I am writing hoping someone would give an advice for possible solution.

The only lossless format my car Audio System only recognizes is .wav files. So, I converted my music to uncompressed .wav using JRMC18. During playback, I am getting pops/clicks between tracks. Wav converter in JRMC18 has no settings, any suggestions what else I can try? I am planning to try converting my stuff to .wav using VLC,  any other suggestions?

PS: just noticed that VLC produces slightly smaller .wav file for the same source, so it seems like there's some variation between files.
Thanks!

You could try updating MC.  18.0.212 is here:

It's possible that the tags are causing the player problems.  That could also account for the difference in file size.  Try removing the cover art, for example.

Thanks for getting back to me.  I am still testing, but I am pretty sure it is tags. Luckily MC has Library Tools->Remove Tags which I plan to execute on whole collection. Who would've known that player reads tags as audio info :)

BTW, even after tag removal VLC produces smaller .wav. However, so far I haven't heard clicks and I am very happy, fingers crossed :)
