I was watching tv tonight and the phrase came up "Four score and seven years ago"

It's Part of the gettysburg adress

What does it acualy mean?

A Score Is 20 years

4*20+7 = 87 Years Ago

1863 (year of gettysburg address) - 1776 (founding of the U.S.) = 87
