Title: Internal Volume volume levelling
Post by: Dingwall on November 14, 2022, 02:38:43 am
How do I turn off volume levelling? I was just flipping thru settings and hit audio analyse to see what it did. Since then the volume is so low I set it to 100 and volume protection is off but dynamic is gone. Uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Mac OS Monterrey JRiver 28 licensed, 29 licensed, 30 trail.

You have both Volume Leveling and Adaptive Volume turned off.  So they should be off, but clearly the audio path shows Volume leveling still on.  Maybe change you audio device (temporarily) and change it back?

By the way, Volume leveling does not affect dynamics.  It only reduces the overall volume on a per track basis.

Maybe the JRiver staff have an idea or two for you.

Best of luck.

That's not volume levelling, it's the internal volume control. Just move the slider and watch it change.

Thank you Brian and Bob, that gave some insight.

After some puzzling I found out that I needed to set the volume of the Macbook to maximum and set Media Centre Volume to Internal Volume. Now I can adjust the volume to the desired loudness with the app slider.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Robert.

LOL.  Thanks Bob.  Sometimes I miss the obvious.  :)
