Title: TV Guide EPG Problems with MC2XML.EXE
Post by: olewnickij on January 28, 2021, 10:48:14 pm
I used mc2xml.exe to download an EPG from TVGUIDE.com for a while.  In January 2021 it stopped connecting to the TVGUIDE.com website EPG.  I am not sure if changes to the TVGUIDE.com page effected mc2xml.exe.  To work around the problem I reconfigured mc2xml.exe to get the EPG from zap2it.com.  It works fine and similar to TVGUIDE.com before the recent errors.  Reconfiguring the mc2xml.exe required deleting the mc2xml.dat file.  Running mc2xml.exe from a Windows command prompt window to answer the questions to build a new mc2xml.dat file.  In MediaCenter, the EPG downloaded needed the command line code corrected for zap2it.com by using the -1 switch.  The tuner channels needed to manually matched to the zap2it.com channels, and MediaCenter walked me through this.

Even though zap2it.com EPG data works fine, it would be nice to know if anyone knows how to get the TVGUIDE.com EPG error corrected.

Not sure if this will help you, but everyone's MC2XML.EXE stopped working a few months ago because the program was written with an "end of life" date or something... So we all had to go download version 1.7 to get it working again. What version do you have? Right click exe, properties, details. Download still works via:
