Using Ubunto what is a good step-by-step for mounting a Windows directory share on Ubuntu?

This looks fine and to the point. One option that I also add most of the time is nofail (in fstab). If you don't have it the system will refuse to boot if there is any problem mounting the drive on startup. Which for me is more annoying than helpful as I can't access the system then without plugging a monitor and keyboard into them. Don't have things like IPMI or whatnot you'd find on more real server hardware.
