Handheld Redetect all devices doesn't detect USB connected android.
It is detected by the Ubuntu OS, though.

Linux MC doesn't do automatic handheld managment yet.
You can do it manually however. A forum search will turn this up.
Under the handheld management in Options you can add one and specify it's capabilities.

Thank you. I did search the forum for "handheld" and it turned up one result. I read that post earlier but I guess I didn't read it well enough.
