Title: Can I keep metadata from "an old" movie and add that to "the same new" movie
Post by: arcspin on February 01, 2020, 12:06:20 am
Hi all,
I'm re-ripping some older DVD's.
Is there a way to keep metadata from the "old" movie that I have in JRiver and add that, in JRiver, to the "same re-ripped" movie that I just re-ripped?
Or can I at least manually add the date when I watched that movie in JRiver (I know that I can tick the "Marked as played" under Library tools but I can't add the played date)

(I have searched the forum but cannot find any decisive answer)

Have a great weekend,

Are you keeping old rips? ... if not, just delete old rip and replace it with new rip ... name new rip exactly like old rip ... on import MC will just note that the file had changed

I do this all the time when I add Atmos tracks from UHD rips to 3D rips

GREAT!
No, I'm not keeping my old rips so this looks like an easy and straightforward solution.
I will try this.

Thank you,

I do this all the time. Works for music and video (and probably images too) but I have not tried that.
