I have been getting the following message. "Media Center has encountered critical error #30. Some essential component is missing or corrupted. Please uninstall and reinstall the latest version of Media Center. If this persist, report it to JRiver."
I have done as suggested and it still persists and when it does, MC crashes I restart it and it goes okay till it brings up the error message. Also when I am playing a playlist and bring up the Library Browser and click play it won't but crashes. Is this normal. HELP!! :(

Try re-installing your license.

Hi Jim
Would you please tell me how to re-install my licence?
-
The information on how to restore is here:
www.jrmediacenter.com/purchase.html
-
Thanks Jim
That appears to have done the trick.

I've had this happen to me, but I'm convinced that it is caused by a change in the iTunes database when the iPod has been synced with iTunes 5.0. After having tried my iPod with iTunes 5.0, I had to do a restore in order to get it to work with MC again. I have had no errors since then.

Bump
This message comes up when I start my computer. :o
Media Center Install Wizard failed to install a file
Source :\C Program Files\J River\Media Center 11\Setup\msscript.ocx ::)
This is a serious situation and makes MC 11 virtually unusable.
What I need is to download a MC 11.0.316 exe file that has the missing file.
Would Jim or anyone else please tell me how to access that file.
I may also need advice on our to clean any old MC files from the registry that maybe be contributing to this problem.
I miss my MC please help me. :(

Virus?

Hi
Last week I had an error 30# message come up which crashed my MC 11.0316.Eventually this got so bad MC only brought up the 30 day trial screen. I scanned my entire computer numerous times using NOD32 and it did find a virus. But since then it appears to be clean.
Jim said my computer had a virus that is why MC is crashing.
If you think I still have a virus that is causing this problem. Would somebody
tell me how to find and remove it.
I was reluctant to reinstall MC and use another Restore so I used Windows Media Player 10 I had no problems with this, so after a few days I decided to restore MC11. It worked fine for about 3 days until this morning when it wouldn’t start and once again the screen came up saying my trial period has expired.
I am getting frustrated wasting my Restores when I an a registered user.
Can you please help me?

There was another thread on the same problem. It is a virus.
