Title: why does my 52x mad dog rip slowly sometimes, and

?

sometimes, it zooms at 12-15; on a few cds it stuck at 2.4 and hung.  it seems to work ok--i can burn to it and play cds

my dvd drive always rips poifect.

any ideas??
