I have observed on two occasions where I've closed MC and the hourly time announcement from the system occurs, even though its no longer the top of the hour. It's actually kind of funny, in a glitchy sort of way. Guessing it has something to do with MC taking exclusive audio control. Seems like that event should occur but simply not be able to audibly announce (redirect to a null output). Being told it's 1:00 at 1:45 is a bit more than my brain can handle some days!
