Title: can't rip CD in one instance of MC
Post by: kmmcd on May 05, 2020, 07:17:26 pm
I have MC in three PC's (running W10), yet on one of them, I  can't rip a CD.

On my MS Surface, I can plug in a USB CD drive and rip just fine using MC.

When I use the same USB CD drive on a second PC that runs MC, windows can list the disc contents (list of .cda files), but MC cannot. MC "thinks" that there is no disc in the drive, and the rip window shows: "No files were found on disc; double-click here to re-analyze the disc." I have tried this on two of the PC's USB interfaces with the same results, and each USB port can successfully access thumb drive contents.

The difference with the second PC is that it has no keyboard or monitor; I am controlling it via the remote desktop interface. The file destination for ripping is on a network drive.

Mu search here was not successful in finding a solution. Any advice?

I have figured it out. I had to run MC in administrator mode.
