Title: strange behaviours with playlist changes within the last 5 seconds of a song
Post by: prahl on May 08, 2017, 06:31:43 am
Hi,

we got some strange behaviours, if we are doing some actions within the last 5 seconds of a playing song.

For all issues you can assume that the first song plays in a playlist with at least three songs.
To reproduce do any of the following actions within the last 5 seconds of the playing song.

Issue 1:
action: delete the next song within the last 5 seconds, while having another next song left
  result: JRiver stops

Issue 2:
action: adding songs after the current song within the last 5 seconds
result: The added songs are skipped

Issue 3:
action: pause within the last 5 seconds
result: JRiver jumps to the next song and pauses at 0:00

Issue 4:
action: pause within the last 5 seconds, with the next song having a different sample rate
result: JRiver pauses briefly and then starts playing without sound

Issue 5:
action: Shuffle within the last 5 seconds
result: JRiver mixes the playlist again and plays a song, but the current song is not marked in the play list anymore

All issues are happening in the following versions:
- MediaCenter 22.0.88 (64bit) on Debian 8
- MediaCenter 22.0.93 (32bit) on Debian7
- MediaCenter 21.0.90 on Mac

In all issues fading is deactivated.

Our feelings about those issues:
- Issues 1,2 and 3 doesn't matter so much.
- We consider issue 4 will not happen that often in real life.
- Issue 5 is a bad state, because we got a wrong playing now position via MCWS.

Greetings
Tino

Unfortunately the last 5 seconds is when a track transition needs to be calculated. This is especially tricky with DLNA devices, many of which have quirks with track advancement.
